What to See & Do
When you arrive, there are several highlights and experiences not to miss:
- Animal enclosures & native wildlife Wildwood focuses on British species—both present and past. Wolves, bears, lynxes, wildcats, otters, wild boar, beavers, deer, foxes and many more.
- Feeding sessions and talks The keepers often do feeding times and talks. These offer insight into animals’ lives, conservation status, behaviours. Worth timing your visit around one of these. (Check on arrival or ahead via their website.)
- Trails and woodland walks The woodland paths are part of the charm—the way the animals’ enclosures are set among trees, the dappled light, spots to pause. If you enjoy walking, bring comfortable shoes and maybe binoculars.
- Adventure play areasGreat for families: there are large play structures, slides (including a vertical drop slide), zip-slides, tree-top features. Younger children have a separate under-5s area.
- Relaxation & Refreshments After walking and exploring, good cafés and picnic spots are essential. Wildwood has both: café with hot/cold meals, snacks etc., plus scenic spots to sit, eat, and rest.
